Hi! We’re Lisa & Ian
Welcome to The Virtual Voyagers,
We’re creating our version of the digital nomad lifestyle, one that’s built around comfort, routine, and actually enjoying the day-to-day of this life. What started as a decision to leave the traditional path has slowly turned into something much deeper, learning how to live, work, and feel good while constantly on the move.
We stepped away from the conventional 9-to-5 and built a life that allows us to travel full-time, without rushing from place to place. Over time, we’ve realized it’s not just about where we go, but how we live while we’re there. The routines we keep, the rhythms we fall into, and the small, everyday moments that make each place feel like home, even if it’s temporary.
Slow travel became the foundation for all of it. Staying 1–3 months in each location gives us the space to settle in, create structure, and experience a place beyond the surface. It’s less about checking destinations off a list and more about living in them, learning what works for us, what doesn’t, and how we want to show up in this version of life.

We’re exploring the world at a pace that works for us, by settling in and not just checking places off a list.
In a space that often feels like extremes, either budget backpacking or over-the-top luxury, we’ve found ourselves somewhere in the middle. Comfort travel, where we can enjoy where we are, take care of ourselves, and still experience everything around us. It’s less about chasing destinations and more about creating a way of living that feels good, wherever we are.
In 2012, we were in Madrid for our first time, on our first BIG holiday together, sitting on our tiny balcony overlooking Plaza Mayor, right in the middle of all the chaos. If you have ever been to Madrid, it is likely you have walked through this famous plaza. The energy, the buzz, the vendors yelling, it is something to experience. We had rented a little condo that was right in this plaza. This is where the dream of a different lifestyle was born. A seed was planted that evening as we sipped Spanish wine and watched the show from our balcony with so much enjoyment and wonder. Looking back, I see now that we fell in love with this dream at that moment.
